Deej can Read.

Post by Deej on Sat Jan 18, 2014 1:31 pm

Very Happy

Well I can, honest. LOLLOLLOL

Okay so I started the year out with an easy read.

Blurb - Tess Rogers grew up in the midst of chaos and uncertainty, but she always knew one thing to be true—one day six hundred acres of prime farmland would be hers. Then she discovers not even that truth can be counted on. Tess's stepfather has kept important secrets, and Tess's dream of breeding a line of organic dairy cows suddenly goes up in a burst of smoke and flame.

R. Clayton Sutter is an expert at managing just about anything—money, businesses, and people. Getting NorthAm Fuel's newest shale refinery operational in the rolling hills of Upstate New York shouldn’t be much of a challenge, but then, she hadn't counted on dealing with vandalism, petitions, and a woman she’d never expected to see again—one who still haunts her dreams.

When Tess and Clay square off on opposite sides of the heated debate, past and present collide in a battle of wills and unbidden desire.

Easy read, interesting story line, (fracking), and of course romance.  Don't look for anything deep, but it is a HEA.

BLURB - Some believe that special someone is out there just waiting to be found. Jorie Andolini is one of those people and has spent a lot of time envisioning that moment. She bumps into a woman at a grocery store, the woman drops a can of peas, Jorie picks it up, their eyes meet, and two souls connect. But it’s actually a wasted trip to New York, a snowstorm, and a canceled flight home that puts her in the path of Lena Vaughn.
Lena has found fault in every man she’s ever dated. Her dream of finding a husband is dwindling with every year that passes. Despite what her friends say, Lena doesn’t believe she has a fear of commitment, she simply hasn’t found a man she wanted to commit to. It comes as a surprise that in fact it is a woman who stirs those desires. For Lena, it’s not really a matter of sexuality, it’s just Jorie.
Travel the road to happiness with Jorie and Lena. Two crazy old women, meddling friends, and cattitude are just some sights you’ll see along the way.

This book made me laugh out loud and more than once. I truly enjoy Alexander's books and can't wait for the next one. If you like romances, and laughter, try this one.

Etched in Shadows

BLURB - For 39-year-old Johnelle Morrissey, the American Dream is a successful career in medical technology, a stately home in historic Charleston, SC, and happy times with the people she loves most—her husband Dwight, their teenage son Ian and her oldest friend Alice Choate. That dream shatters on a routine business trip when her plane goes down shortly after takeoff, leaving her with only clouded memories of her former life.

Devastated by the tragedy, Alice teams with the family to help Johnelle recover. For hours on end they talk about their lives, reminiscing on the moments that formed their friendship over the years, with Alice guarding her most closely held secret—that she’s been in love with Johnelle for as long as she can remember.

Johnelle begins pulling the memories together, eventually recalling the significant events of her life—the college years, her wedding and the joys of raising her son. What she can’t remember are feelings of love for Dwight. As her physical injuries heal, the depressing return to her marriage is more than she can bear…especially since her heart wants Alice.

I very much like MacGregor's writing style. She does not disappoint with this story. Go read it.

I don't think I've read one of Robin Alexander's books. I will have to get that on my reading list.  OK
