What are you reading?

Post by ElaineB on Sat Jan 04, 2014 5:40 pm

Forget the 50-book challenges and lists. Let's be in the moment for a moment. What are you reading right now?

I'm reading State of Wonder by Ann Patchett.

I just finished Deaths of Jocaste by J.M Redmann. So far I have read Death by the Riverside and Water Mark by her. The Mickey Knight series is really good.

Ah, glad you like them. Though I'm losing faith in the series, the first four or so are top rate!

I read that the third part, The Intersection of Law and Desire is supposed to be very good. Looking forward to read that one. Smile

Oh, and I've just started Best American Science and Nature Writing 2013. I'm only in the introduction, but already it's excellent!

Love this thread! I am currently reading:

Graceful Waters by BL MIller and Verda Foster

The Gravity Between Us by Kristen Zimmer (A book club selection)

Stepping Through Cancer by Deborah Hardy (I read this in small chunks. Can't handle too much at once)

Healing from the Heart: How Unconventional Wisdom Unleashes the Power of Modern Medicine by Mehmet Oz and Ron Arias (Yeah, Dr. Oz -- bought it for 10 cents at an estate sale. Very good read).

Hey, does anyone else read more than one book at a time like I do? Is that ADD or something? pardon

I might read two books at a time, but not four! Sometimes I'll have one I'm reading at home and another at the library during lunch.

I read that one quite some time ago and really liked it.  OK

I also tend to read more than one book, mostly because I am in the mood to read a different genre. Sometimes I read a detective story and in the middle of it I am in the mood to read something romantic or scary.  Very Happy

For me it's just the opposite. If I'm reading something scary, I need to break it up with a romance in the middle, otherwise I have nightmares.  Scared

I usually read a few pages when I am laying in bed just before I go to sleep. But that can't be anything scary either. Smile

If I'm reading three or four, it's usually because I've got a non-fiction book in the mix. When do I have time to actually read?  LOL LOL LOL LOL
