Post by ElaineB on Mon Jun 10, 2013 1:49 pm

With thanks to our Sub Sleuth Doreen Perrine!

There's a link on Facebook for the call:
https://www.facebook.com/events/166287690098270/

NOTE: Deadline below is 7/16, NOON!

Do you want your writing to make a difference in the LGBT community?

" I am currently accepting submissions for an LGBT-themed anthology. All profit will be donated to the Trevor Project (http://www.thetrevorproject.org/). The books will be 40 pages and cost $5. Those who have be selected for print can obtain the book at half price.

For the record, this is an open event. Invite, invite, invite! If I have enough material, I may do a second one for another LGBT organization. Also, feel free to post title ideas on this here wall. :]

Submission Guidelines:

- Submissions must be LGBT-themed poetry, short fiction or creative non-fiction. You don't have to be LGBT (or any other rainbow persuasion) to write or submit. Pieces from allies and pieces about about equality, tolerance, diversity, et cetera are highly encouraged. Any anti-LGBT sentiment will result in an automatic disqualification.

- You may submit up to five pieces.

- Previously published material is welcome if you hold the rights. Please note when and where the pieces was published so I don't get my ass wooped. Thanks. :]

- Submission should be typed into the body of an email and sent to makepoetry.andlove@gmail.com by noon on the 16th of July.
Please do not send submissions to my Facebook account or any other email address!

- Please, please, for the love of god, do not use crazy fonts or colours.

- Include your name as you want it to appear in the publication.

*I reserve the right refuse any submission for any reason. So there. Also, this project is not sponsored by the Trevor Project, nor am I affiliated with the organization in any way. "

Oh, cool. Thanks for posting this. I may have to research this further. It's tough when I'm in the middle of writing a novel to break out of it and write a short story. Perhaps the muse will call.
